Soft Neutral Eye

When you need something daytime appropriate, perfect for school or work, a soft neutral eye will always do the trick. Transition this look for a night out by adding a pop of red on your lips.

Step 1: Prime Your Lids
Prime your lids with a peach-coloured cream eyeshadow as a base. This keeps your eyeshadow in place and prevents it from creasing through the day.

Step 2: Go Bronze
Sweep a wash of bronze eyeshadow all over your eyelid. Add dimension by adding another layer of the same shadow along the crease with a small crease brush.

Step 3: Blend And Highlight
The key to perfecting a soft eyelook is proper blending. With a fluffy brush, softly blend the crease colour with a shimmery highlight shade. Use the same shade to highlight your brow bone.

Step 4: Line With Eyeliner
Define your eyes by lining the top lid with eyeliner. Keep the line thin and as close to the lashes as possible.

Step 5: Layer On The Mascara
Since this look is more toned-down, skip the false lashes and just curl and layer your natural lashes with at least 3 coats of volumizing and lengthening mascara.

Metallic Blue Hues

Make a statement with your eyes by going blue with a pop of metallic. It's a standout eye look perfect for a night out on the town. Since your eyes are already so bright, keep the rest of your face and lips muted with a pink-nude lipstick and barely-there blush.

Step 1: Prime Your Lids
Keep the colour looking vibrant and lasting all night by priming your lids with a nude cream eyeshadow base.

Step 2: Pop Of Blue
Sweep a vibrant blue eyeshadow all over your lids, concentrating more of the colour along your crease. Add a bit of blue along your lower lashline as well.

Step 3: Metallic Hues
Bring a touch of metallic shimmer to the look by adding it to the middle of your lid and using it as a transition shade to your brow bone.

Step 4: Line The Eyes
Apply a thick line of liquid eyeliner, flicking it up at the end for a soft cat-eye effect.

Step 5:  Pile On The Mascara
Accentuate your eyes by layering 3 coats of your favourite mascara to add extra volume and length.

Bronze & Gold

If you're a fan of neutral shades, here's a more striking way to wear neutrals by blending shimmery gold with your favourite go-to bronze.

Step 1: Prime Your Lids
Prime your lids with a bronze-coloured cream eyeshadow to keep your look vibrant and prevent any glitter fallout from the shimmery gold shade.

Step 2: Go Bronze
Sweep a deep bronze shade all over your upper eyelids. Bring the colour down to your lower lashline with a small angled brush.

Step 3: Add The Gold
With a fluffy brush, blend the gold shimmery eyeshadow all over your crease, keeping the colour more concentrated along the outer half of your eye. Pop a bit of this eyeshadow in the middle of your lower lashline as well.

Step 4: Line The Eyes
Apply a thick line of liquid eye liner with a thick cat eye at the end. Don't be afraid to go for a bold line here!

Step 5:  Pile On The Mascara
Play up your eyes even more by popping on false lashes and layering at least 3 coats of your favourite mascara.

Bollywood Eyes

Are a bold, smoky eye type of girl? Then you may want to give this thickly-lined Bollywood eye look a try!

Step 1: Prime Your Lids
Prime your lids with a bronze cream eyeshadow as a base to keep the colour lasting through the day without creasing.

Step 2: Go Purple
A dark purple eyeshadow is a great way to bring colour to a smoky eye. Sweep a generous amount all over your lids, going beyond the crease and lining your lower lashline. Blend the outer edges with a fluffy brush for a seamless transition of colour.

Step 3: Smoke The Look
For the smoky effect, pile on dark brown eyeshadow all over the lid. Bring the colour down to your lower lashline as well. Keep layering the shadow until you get your desired smoky effect. You may even add a bit more purple for more dimension.

Step 4: Line The Eyes
Apply a thick line of kohl eyeliner all around your eye, including your upper and bottom waterline. Smoke out the lines with a stiff angled brush. You may repeat this process 2 more times to achieve a deeper smoky effect.

Step 5:  Pile On The Mascara
Since you're going for a bold look, pop on the boldest pair of eyelashes you own and layer it with a generous coat of mascara.

If there’s one thing you shouldn’t leave the house without, even on a no makeup day, it’s mascara. Literally like magic wands, they have the ability to instantly add volume, lengthen and create drama for bigger, sexier eyes in seconds.

Here are five mascaras the Clozette team swears by.

Benefit They’re Real! Mascara
If you want falsies without the hassle, this one is for you. The spiky brush that features a unique dome tip allows you to grab each and every lash (yes, even the tiny ones at the corners of your eyes) from root to tip and deliver the long-wear formula. Expect lashes that are lifted, curled and separated with va-va-voom volume.
Laneige Jet Curling Mascara
Short, limp lashes that won’t stay curled? This mascara is just what you need. Its revolutionary air gel formula allows for smoother application and intense colour without making your lashes brittle. And the 3D Jelly Rubber Brush means you won’t be caught with your mouth open wiggling it this way and that to get fanned out lashes. One swipe horizontally will curl and add volume, and using it vertically will help define each and every lash.

Maybelline The Falsies VolumExpress
The patented spoon-shaped brush mimics the contour of the eye and adheres itself to the lashes making application a breeze. Go for a natural-lashes-just-much-better look with a single coat or layer on several coats for the falsie effect. Bonus: It won’t break the bank.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
The creamy formula glides through your lashes coating each strand with intense, rich, black pigment for long, luscious lashes and its nourishing formula helps protect and promote lash growth. We love the fact that we can add on extra volume without it looking clumpy just before we head out to cocktails – even after wearing it the entire day.

Givenchy Noir Couture Mascara
Whenever we feel the need for extra oomph, we find ourselves reaching for this mascara. The triple spiral brush grabs lashes right from the roots to lengthen and volumise them for a wide-eyed effect and the Lash Booster Expert Complex protects and strengthens lashes.

Men’s fragrances usually smell clean, sleek and whole. What sets them apart from feminine fragrances is that they are usually composed of floral and citrus notes – but just because musk and peppers are typically associated with masculine scents doesn't mean we can’t enjoy them as well.

Here are a few fragrances designed for men that we can see ourselves stealing from our boyfriends’ collections:

Boss Orange Man

Composed with spicy notes of fresh apple, vanilla, warm incense and African Bubinga wood, it is an exotic scent great for days you want to channel that devil-may-care attitude. A woman who embodies fun and spontaneity would embrace this scent as well.
Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme

Its refreshing, summery composition is similar to Light Blue Pour Femme but it includes more herbs such as rosemary and Brazilian rose wood. If you prefer a “greener” version of Light Blue, then opt for the men’s version.

Gucci Guilty Pour Homme

The fragrance opens with invigorating lavender and lemon, and is supported by warm woody accords of cedar and patchouli, giving the scent an exciting and luxurious allure – perfect for the go-getting woman.

Penhaligon’s LP No. 9

This powdered fragrance features ylang-ylang and spices at its heart, and vanilla, patchouli, musk and amber as the base notes – all in all, exuding a warm and seductive scent that is meant to be worn on glamorous evenings.

Bleu de Chanel

This fragrance is made of interesting spices: labdanum, nutmeg, ginger, sandalwood, mint, jasmine, grapefruit, citruses, vetiver, incense, cedar and pink pepper. The heady combination makes for a complex, woody aroma that is both refreshing and energising.
