The worlds of beauty and fashion intersect almost seamlessly. The two industries coexist quite well, so we’re always happy when a collaboration by forces on both sides come along. You can just imagine our delight upon learning about the first LANEIGE Meets Fashion collection. The collaborations between the South Korean beauty giant and various fashion hotshots is now in its fourth year. But how did the initiative come about? Let’s take a little stroll down memory lane.

LANEIGE x pushBUTTON

In 2014, LANEIGE chose to partner with pushBUTTON to release a bold collection inspired by the fashion brand’s hip attitude. The result was a collection of products that have the same zest as the pushBUTTON. The Serum Intense Lipstick, Shadow & BB Cushion, and Designer Clutch all bore the perky leopard print of pushBUTTON.

LANEIGE x PLAYNOMORE

Partnering with Korean brand PLAYNOMORE in 2015, LANEIGE released a collection that brought out the colours of SHYGIRL. The collection, which included the Intense Lip Gel, BB Cushion, and Jet Curling Mascara, was decorated with the brand’s signature googly eyes.

LANEIGE x LUCKY CHOUETTE

Last year, the beauty brand partnered with Korean brand LUCKY CHOUETTE to create a collection that’s as cute and fun-loving as the fashion house’s signature style. The collection saw the release of the Serum Drop Tint, Multi-Face Colours, and BB Cushions that bore the fashion brand’s distinct owl design.

LANEIGE x YCH

For the fourth run of LANEIGE Meets Fashion, the beauty brand has partnered with YCH to create a collection that’s classic yet modern. Products from the collaboration are housed in packaging created with real fabric. The packaging has a herringbone pattern, which can also be seen in the garments by YCH for fall/winter. The collection includes the Skin Veil Base Dot Cushion, the Two Tone Matte Lip Bar, and Eyebrow Cushion-Cara.

Get the LANEIGE x YCH collection at LANEIGE stores, LAZADA Singapore and ZALORA Singapore now.

What were you up to this Wednesday? It’s almost the end of the workday for us, but we’re still indulging ourselves in fun news bits from the worlds of fashion and beauty. Here are just some of the exciting things you should know about.

Trends to cop this season

‘Tis the season for new trends and styles. And we were able to see the ones we’ll surely try last week with MAC Cosmetics PH. We learned that for fall and winter, these are the key looks to sport: Bold (a flash of eye-catching opaque colour), Washed (also defined as “touchable” makeup), Rogued (it’s all about red, red, and red), and Big (amplify your eyes).

Squiggle brows

We love the trends we mentioned above, but this one we’re not so sure we can give a nod to. This year has spawned a lot of weird makeup trends, and it doesn’t look like they will stop anytime soon. The latest to hit social media by storm is the squiggle brows. Would you try it?

Silent Disco

Pedder on Scotts will host the first ever Silent Disco session in a retail environment on 16 September from 2 PM to 5 PM. Along with the silent party is the release of the retail store’s autumn/winter collections.

Models talk

We all know that the fashion industry is cutthroat. But what we know might just be a portion of the real deal. Speaking to the New York Times, some models have opened up about their struggles in the modelling world, including their bouts with racism, ageism, and abuse.

Check out the cool stuff that happened last week here.
