aespa are the new Givenchy brand ambassadors

They may be new to the K-pop scene, but they’re already making waves in the fashion world. Rookie K-pop girl group aespa, formed by Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning, was announced as the new Givenchy brand ambassadors for 2021. Aside from being the first K-pop artists to be appointed as the brand’s ambassadors, this is also the first time a group was chosen to endorse a luxury fashion brand.“When I first saw aespa, I was overwhelmed by the energy each member had. I felt that as a group and individually, Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning have strong individuality and style that naturally fit with Givenchy. aespa’s fashion is having their own colour,” shared Givenchy creative director Matthew M. Williams to Soompi.

Rihanna’s Fenty brand closes its doors

“Rihanna and LVMH have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions,” according to WWD. It seems this is one of the many impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on fashion. Don’t worry though! We’re speculating that this will be an opportunity for Rihanna to grow her other brands, namely Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty, in the meantime.

#FreeBritney sparks anew with new documentary

If you’re a fan of 90s and 2000s queen Britney Spears, then you’re already familiar with the #FreeBritney movement that started in 2009 and has been frequently resurging over the years. Fans of the pop star were protesting about the strict measures around Britney’s conservatorship, which didn’t allow her any control over her finances and social media activity at the least. After The New York Times documentary titled “Framing Britney Spears” was released last Friday, fans and celebrities alike have started calling for action to release Britney from said conservatorship. The documentary is streaming on Hulu, in case you’re interested.

Lalisa Manoban is making her way back to television. It was announced that the Thai K-pop rapper will be returning for the third season of iQIYI’s Youth With You 3. The reality competition for aspiring Chinese idols has been running since 2018, with professional performers specialising in song, dance, and rap acting as mentors to the contestants.
