Before she became the most followed K-pop idol on IG last April with 17.4 million followers then, the Thai K-Pop artist was already known for her rapping and dancing prowess on-stage. Now, she has become an influential style star to watch.

Her first solo magazine cover on Harper's Bazaar Thailand's May 2019 issue sold 120,000 printed copies. In June, after posting a photo wearing Celine’s Triomphe bag on social media, global searches for the bag rose to 66 per cent. But she’s not yet done. To end the year and welcome another, she has worked with multi-hyphenated creative director Hedi Slimane for the covers of Vogue Hong Kong and Madame Figaro Japan for their December and January Issues respectively.

First, we want to give a shoutout to the iconic plaids BLACKPINK has been wearing in their performances. It’s bringing back our love for the fabric, and we just couldn’t get over how Lisa has managed to wear the print with a touch of a gothic school girl vibe.

Though she can adopt any kind of style, it’s always the athleisure looks that she slays the best. Just take a look at this monochromatic adidas ensemble — it’s the epitome of sporty chic. 



Daylight glam




Glitz and glam when the sun’s out? Who knew that works? BLACKPINK’s Lisa makes the party staple appropriate for day by dressing it down with a plain white top and jeans. Her knee-high boots add an edge and the red Celine Triomphe bag — yes, that bag — adds a pop of colour that’s just perfect for sitting front row at Celine’s fashion show.

We couldn’t get our eyes off this look. It’s totally casual and low-key but still screams iconic ‘90s fashion. It’s equally hip and sexy. Dare we say, it brought the bucket hat and camouflage cargoes back on every fashionista’s radar. 



Dark tropicale




All covered in black on a tropical beach? BLACKPINK’s Lisa says yes. The K-Pop star gave her sunny escapades an interesting touch with this sheer pleated dress cover-up. Add to that the straw hat tied with a black ribbon and her look somehow became dark yet dainty at the same time.

Last but not least is our fave ensemble of Lisa’s from BLACKPINK’s Kill This Love music video. This new era in their music career is glittered with ensembles that are a different kind of power dressing. Looks literally could kill in this black and white outfit. Her fringed skirt proved to be a glam contrast to the edginess of her leather coat.

The launch of the BAO BAO CLOUD Concept Store in ION Orchard last 13 November also saw the launch of the Prism Pochette. This was BAO BAO Issey Miyake’s first pop-up in Singapore and outside of Japan. The Prism Pochette (SGD360/~USD264.56), which comes in seven colourways, challenges the wearer to be creative in how to style and carry it. Aside from the seven colours, there are also 12 bar colours for you to choose from. Mix and match the design combinations (which range up to almost 80 ways) and how to carry the Pochette — as a clutch, a fanny pack, a sling bag, and more.

Lit up the city at the Coach x Raffles City Holiday Party



We got an exclusive preview of the Coach holiday collection last 15 November, which includes several ready-to-wear pieces and Tabby handbags that will be exclusive to Raffles City. After a surprise performance from nutcracker-dressed drummers, we were ushered to witness the lighting of the Coach Christmas Tree. This would be the only Coach-branded Christmas tree in the world this year, standing at 16 metres tall and inspired by the Coach mascot, Rexy. Beneath the Christmas tree is an interactive room featuring flashing Christmas elements from the floor and reflected onto the mirrored walls. This interactive display operates from 10am to 10pm, from 16 Nov to 26 Dec.

We visited the gorgeous Bvlgari Christmas House outside of Takashimaya Shopping Centre, with its spacious interior that perfectly showcases all their key fragrances for men and women, including some festive gift sets for this year’s Secret Santa spread throughout three rooms. Every visit to the Bvlgari Christmas House will have you leaving with a special personalisable Christmas-themed token. The pop-up is open until 5 January 2020.

Uniqlo and Marimekko have teamed up once again to create a new collection for this season. After garnering a positive response from their first limited-edition collaboration for Spring 2018, the two brands decided to come together again — this time concentrating to create apparel that celebrates Finnish winter traditions. Expect to see Ultra Light Down Cocoon Coat, Wool Cashmere Hoodie, shirt dresses, jumpsuits and other winter style essentials dressed in bold and colourful Marimekko prints. The upcoming collection will be up for grabs starting 29 November.


Essena O'Neill returns to social media



Back in 2015, Essena O'Neill made headlines when she left the influencer industry and quit social media at the height of her career. What was even more groundbreaking was when she edited all her Instagram posts to narrate what was really going on behind the seemingly effortless glam shots. "NOT REAL LIFE - took over 100 in similar poses trying to make my stomach look good," she writes in a now-deleted post. Now, four years after, O'Neill is ready to make a comeback in the digital arena. FYI, this is her new Instagram account.
