Insider Roundup: Emilia Clarke Is Clinique's New Face & More

This week's hottest bites

How’s your January going so far? There's been a lot of heart-breaking events around the world, but we can still find simple joys to celebrate. Look at the bright side and amp up your excitement with the latest news in the world of fashion and beauty. From Emilia Clarke becoming the new global ambassador for Clinique to Beyoncé’s Ivy Park x Adidas Collection — here are all the week’s hottest news that are bound to cheer you up.

Emilia Clarke is the first-ever Clinique global ambassador

Aside from being Mother of Dragons, The Unburnt, The Breaker of Chains, and so on, Emilia Clarke can now add yet another title to the extremely long list she earned being Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s Game of Thrones. As of yesterday, it was announced that she has become Clinique’s global ambassador. Over the course of Clinique’s 50-year anniversary, she’s the first-ever celebrity tapped to be the face of the beauty brand. Emilia Clarke will be representing Clinique iD, an innovative skincare range that allows people to personalise their moisturiser to fit their very own skincare needs. With her gushing about and attesting to the product’s glowing effects, we can’t help but want to try it out too!

Kat Von D departs from her makeup brand

Just in: Kat Von D decided to leave her eponymous beauty brand to pursue other artistic endeavours. This isn’t sad news in particular, because with this, we’ll see more from the pop culture icon with the development of her vegan shoe line and upcoming music tour. What about Kat Von D Beauty though, you might ask? After 12 years of joint partnership, KENDO brands becomes the sole owner. From here on out, the beauty brand will continue their commitment to high-quality vegan makeup products and it will be known as KVD Vegan Beauty. So yes, you’ll still be able to grab your fave Kat Von D makeup and more with future artistic collaborations incoming.

Could Kylie Con be heading our way?

There sure is a lot in-store for beauty lovers this year. Aside from all the exciting releases we have just for this month alone, it seems that a Kylie Cosmetics convention may be in the works. According to lawyer Josh Gerben, Kylie Jenner trademarked names last 9 January. Three names she filed for could be used for a beauty convention or a museum, namely: Kylie Con, Kylie Kon, and Kylie Museum. Still, it’s too early to tell what the beauty mogul is planning. According to E! News, these names can be used in whatever she chooses to, may it be clothing, consultation services, workshops, and more. We guess we just have no choice but to wait for her official announcement.

Beyoncé teases us with her Ivy Park x Adidas Collection

The beauty industry isn’t the only one creating buzz this week. Over to the side of fashion, Queen Bey calls for everyone’s attention (not that she needs to) to her upcoming Ivy Park drop. Throughout the week, she has been subtly showing us snippets from her fashion line, which was first sold through Topshop when it debuted back in 2016. But, if you can recall, last year, the singer decided to partner with Adidas for the relaunch of her activewear brand. With a warm palette composed of maroon, beige, and orange, Beyoncé’s Ivy Park x Adidas collection is set to officially release this 18 January at Adidas online and select stores.
