Insider Roundup: EXO Chen's Surprising Announcement & More
News that stole our hearts
Do we hear the sound of a million girls’ hearts getting broken? Chen of renowned K-Pop boy band EXO has revealed that he will be getting married soon. This piece of news has sent EXO’s fans — also known as EXO-Ls — into a frenzy and was further confirmed by the band's record label, SM entertainment. In November last year, the boy band released its seventh album titled Obsession, the group’s first album where they were promoted as a six-member group. Sending our heartiest congratulations to Chen!
Earlier today at the 25th Critics Choice Awards, Zendaya served up a fierce, fuschia-fuelled Tom Ford top which was first worn by Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover of Harper's BAZAAR. Actress and philanthropist Kristen Bell also delivered an empowering speech as she accepted her #SeeHer award, which recognises women who have pushed boundaries on changing stereotypes and acknowledged the importance of authentic portrayals of women across the entertainment landscape.
Major players of the season continued their winning streaks and we couldn’t be happier — Director Bong Joon-ho brought home the title of Best Director for South Korean thriller Parasite, as with English actress and writer Phoebe Waller Bridge clinching the Actress in a Comedy Series award for her spectacular performance in BBC series Fleabag. Check out the full list of award winners here. The 40th Brit Awards and the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards are coming up next, so stay tuned as we bring you more updates.
Here's a new beauty essential to add to your vanity shelf — French luxury brand diptyque launches its first chypre (pronounced sheep-ruh) fragrance Eau Capitale EDP, which is described as the epitome of “à la parisienne” chic. Its captivating scent? Simply imagine a bouquet of roses verging on excess, followed by fresh bergamot that’s spiced with pink peppercorns. The beautiful design and packaging of the perfume is worth noting too, which draws inspiration from Parisian architecture and iconic Art Nouveau buildings. Diptyque’s Eau Capitale EDP retails for SGD223 and is now available at selected retailers in Singapore including Robinsons The Heeren, escentials Paragon and escentials.com.
With all things new and shiny, it’s also meaningful to look to the past for inspiration — Lumière Irise is a Japanese accessories brand which designs handmade pieces that are made from Japanese vintage parts. We uncovered these charming, asymmetrical earrings which feature a thick vintage bead and beautiful mosaic patterns that are almost iridescent in nature. Browse for more designs from the brand via Sift & Pick.
Old-school icons continue their resurgence across the fashion, beauty and entertainment landscape — popular arcade video game PAC-MAN celebrates its 40th anniversary this year with a collaboration collection with Kipling, and it includes a variety of bags and travel accessories which are perfect for the fun-loving globetrotter. We’re particularly fond of the CURIOSITY S trolley with its digital maze print and cool silicone luggage tag, plus it's customisable with adorable PAC-MAN stickers and charms.
