Trek Along These Hiking Trails In Asia At Least Once In Your Life | Clozette

Sure, hiking isn’t for everyone. Trekking along lush trails requires endurance, stamina, and discipline before you reap its rewards. Still, wouldn’t it be amazing to feel that moment of achievement once you reach the peak? At least once in your life, tough it out and hike up even just one mountainous peak. Asia is full of mountainous regions that would provide you with a spectacular view of Mother Nature’s gifts. Cross out hiking from your bucketlist and live out your once-in-a-lifetime experience by going up these spectacular hiking trails in Asia. Whether you’re a newbie or an experienced hiker, you’ll surely enjoy these trails and their awe-inspiring views.

Mount Rishiri, Japan

Towering above the Northern coast of Hokkaido is the volcanic peak of Mount Rishiri. The peak, referred to as little Fuji, resembles the popular conical shape of Mt. Fuji and is located exactly at the centre of the island. Climbing Mount Rishiri can be a bit challenging, but still manageable even without prior hiking experience. Once you reach the top, you’ll be treated to a breath-taking unobstructed panoramic view of the blue ocean on all sides.

Hallasan National Park, South Korea

Mount Hallasan can seem quite daunting as it is the highest peak of South Korea, standing right in the middle of Jeju Island. But with hiking trails of various difficulties available, the volcanic peak is relatively easy to hike. You can easily ascend the mountain and come back down within the same day. The strenuous climb is worth it because it will be as if you’re walking among the clouds once you reach the top.

Broga Hill, Malaysia

Broga Hill, also called “Bukit Lalang” after the species of grass that grows abundantly on the mountain, is one of the must-visit hiking trails in Malaysia. Compared to the first two peaks, this hill is absolutely easier to climb as it is only 400m tall. Just 40 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur, Broga Hill is perfect for those seeking a quick weekend adventure. The view at the top looks especially spectacular at dawn. With the sun rising and mist covering the plains below, you’ll be awe-inspired by the surreal sight that will greet you as you finish the trail.

Taal Volcano, Philippines

Just an hour away from the Philippines’ busy capital, Taal Volcano is a geological wonder you must definitely conquer in your lifetime. Located in the middle of Taal Lake, the island-volcano is one of the smallest active volcanoes in the world. Viewing one of the craters of the volcano from the nearby city of Tagaytay is already mesmerising. But why stop there when you can trek up the tiny volcano instead? The short climb under the heat will be rewarding. You’ll be able to take in the whole glory of Taal and discover the island that lies in the middle of the lake within the volcano.

Bukit Timah Hill, Singapore

If you aren’t ready to take on towering peaks yet, perhaps Bukit Timah Hill is the one for you. Away from the skyscrapers that lie in the middle of the Lion City is a lush environment waiting to be discovered. Take the path less travelled in Singapore and hike up the trails of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Explore the dense vegetation of the reserve where remnants of a kampung, Malay for “village” are hidden. Venture farther up the Bukit Timah Hill and gaze upon the gorgeous view from the highest point of Singapore. Because the hill is only 182m above sea level, this hiking trail will probably more of a leisurely stroll than a gruelling hike.
