Social media has been buzzing over the events of the weekend! From celebrity spotting to new beauty releases, the deluge of exciting (and some heartbreaking) news are here just shouting for your attention. Before your Monday comes to a close, here’s your catch-up on the latest news in entertainment, beauty, and fashion.

See Jennifer Lopez in a wedding dress in the middle of NYC

No, it’s not because she’s getting married on the streets of New York. J. Lo was spotted sporting a ginormous strapless wedding gown and veil for her new rom-com Marry Me. She plays a pop star picking a random fan from the audience to marry her after discovering that her rock star fiance cheated right before their wedding. It's a crazy premise, but it’s nothing over us going gaga over the stunning gown. Designed by Zuhair Murad Couture, the gown has a lot of sparkling details that glisten and glimmer from every angle and a long, long, long train to amplify the drama.

Meghan Markle opens up about tabloid scrutiny in a new documentary

The Duchess of Sussex opens up about the stress that comes with royal motherhood and having the eyes of British tabloids on her in the new documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey. It covers their royal tour of Africa, which happened last September and aired in the UK last Sunday. Heartbreakingly, Meghan thanks the interviewer for asking after her personal and emotional wellbeing especially after giving birth to her son Archie last May. The documentary was filmed prior to Prince Harry denouncing several British newspapers and tabloids for their invasion of Meghan’s privacy.

Revel in winter wonderland with KiplingxDisney

Just in time for the holidays, Kipling will be coming out with a special-edition collection in celebration of Disney’s highly anticipated film Frozen 2. The collection will feature mystical prints and colours (including Frozen's signature snowflake) and the popular characters of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Sven. Inspired by the movie’s values of self-expression, family, and adventure, Kipling’s Frozen 2 collection pays homage to the Nordic setting of the film. Prices of the special-edition collection will range from SGD39 to SGD299 (~USD28.63 to 219.46) and will be available on Wednesday next week in Kipling boutiques at Jewel Changi, Ion Orchard and Vivo City.

Tati Beauty is coming your way this week

YouTuber and makeup guru Tati Westbrook recently announced the launch of her own makeup company, simply called Tati Beauty. After years of fans clamouring for a makeup collection or collaboration (even garnering some negativity during the launch of her vitamin company back in 2017 because it wasn't a makeup brand, yikes!), she posted a video revealing the shoot for the brand’s first product launch last week. From what we can glean from the teaser, she will be coming out with a makeup palette with warm shades and a neutral colour story.

Have some catching up to do? Here’s last Friday’s news.

If you think about it, high-heeled flip flops are kind of ironic. Most of us wear slippers for comfort rather than style — they're our feet's solace at the end of the day after wearing heels or closed shoes like sneakers and ballet flats. For someone who stands 'tall' at five feet and two inches, platform flip flops are as comfortable as an ordinary slipper. But heeled flip flops? Well, it's a totally different idea. That is, until Kim Kardashian wore it. Ladies, it can be a look. Curious about how to make it work? Read on.

If you want to look casual, but still glam...

Style-wise, the purpose of wearing these heeled flip flops is to humble down a glam outfit. Want to wear that glitzy dress to a casual lunch date, but afraid you're gonna look overdressed? Put on the heeled flip flops and you don't have to worry about looking too posh for a mall trip.

For an easy way to colour-coordinate your outfit...

When in a hurry, the easiest way to look dressed up in a jiffy is to coordinate the colour of your bag and footwear. It's also a good rule to follow when styling heeled flip flops. This trick will make sure that you won't look sloppy even when you're wearing a very relaxed outfit. So when shopping for a heeled flip flop, keep in mind the shades that can match the accessories you have in your wardrobe.

For a not-so-casual look...

Wearing heeled flip flops actually goes both ways. On one hand, it can make a glam outfit fit for casual situations but it can also elevate an ultra carefree look to make it more dressy. It's surprisingly a versatile piece!

Where you can buy

Since this trend is about to blow up, there's a good chance your local department store will have stocks on these designs very soon. But if you want to buy one now, there are some selections on Net-A-Porter from brands like Cult Gaia, Simon Miller and Balenciaga. Other designer brands that have these heeled flip flops are Mari Giudicelli and Jeffrey Campbell.

Before mini skirts were made popular around the late '60s, they were quite controversial. Fast forward to today, they've become a staple in many women's wardrobes. As seen on some members of the Clozette Community, styling a mini skirt brings out a certain kind of charm.
