Sephora suffers through a data breach

Sephora is one of today's biggest stops — offline or online — when it comes to beauty shopping. So it's safe to say that it's quite unnerving to find out when it has been hit by a data breach. Last week, the skincare and makeup retailer reported that it discovered its security compromised two weeks after the said hacking has actually happened. Details of customers, from names, email addresses, passwords and more are said to be exposed. The affected regions are mostly from South East Asia, as well as Australia and New Zealand.

On the flip side, Sephora claims that no credit card or any other purchasing details were accessed despite the large-scale incident.

Fenty Beauty is launching a new foundation for dry skin

It's no secret that Fenty Beauty changed the game for foundations — and beauty brands — forever when it initially launched its vast range of shades from a couple of years ago. But while the much-hyped foundation proved to be an amazing find for many beauty lovers, dry-skinned ladies did not find a match with the original Pro Filt'r Foundation formula. Now, after two years of the brand's conception, Fenty Beauty announced that they are launching a Hydrating line with a similar extensive shade range. Look out for it on Sephora and the Fenty website starting August 15!

Kim K. promotes her new body foundation by applying it to... sunburn?

From one foundation news to the next, Kim Kardashian's post about using her latest KKW Beauty body foundation on her sunburn caused some internet frenzy. While there were divided opinions when she promoted her new product to cover up her psoriasis, it seems like her act united netizens to say that lathering foundation isn't exactly the best for sunburn and she should've used aloe instead. Still, take it from the Kardashian-Jenners to market their latest products in the buzziest ways possible, right?

Valentina Sampaio is Victoria's Secret's first transgender model

Following the news that this year's VS fashion show is cancelled due to a myriad of controversies, it looks like the lingerie brand finally learned a thing or two about diversity by hiring 22-year-old model Valentina Sampaio in their latest series of campaigns. Marked as a move to rebrand, the Brazillian model has previously made waves for being the first openly transgender woman to make the cover of Vogue Brazil, making her a great candidate for such a change.

Uniqlo rolls out a Makoto Shinkai collection

Following the previous global success of his hit Kimi no Na wa (Your Name) now comes another animated masterpiece from acclaimed Japanese director Makoto Shinkai.  Released last 19 July 2019 in Japan and soon to hit international theatres later into the year, Tenki No Ko (Weathering With You) adds to Shinkai's roster of visually appealing films with riveting coming of age narratives. And as a part of celebrating these films, Uniqlo will roll out a collection featuring these two creations on 26 August 2019 that will feature kumihimo, a Japanese-style braiding technique, as well as other motifs in reference to both films.
