In 1992, Estée Lauder Companies started to #RethinkPink by using it to spread the word about having yourself tested for breast cancer. Twenty-five years later, the campaign is stronger than ever. In celebration of the milestone, Estée Lauder Companies will hold a variety of activities to continue the movement for Breast Cancer Awareness. Here are just some of the things you can experience.
Through the arts
Sun Lee working on "Embrace the evolving you"
In partnership with a select group of artists, Estée Lauder will conduct a roving exhibition of artworks that centre on the themes of beauty, courage, confidence, fearlessness and hope. The exhibition, titled Your Body Is Your Victory, will be participated in by female artists Clayrene Chan, Lim Zhi Wei, Rachel Koh, Sun Lee Siew Loo and Emma Chong.
By showcasing the artworks, Estée Lauder and the artists hope to inspire and encourage women to get tested. The artworks will also be up for sale, with the proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Four national landmarks in Singapore will be part of the Global Landmarks Illumination Initiative, which seeks to capture people’s attention and focus them on the importance of breast health. This year, CHIJMES, the National Gallery, The Fullerton Hotel and ION Orchard Mall will shine bright pink lights in support of the initiative. Catch the dazzling spectacle on 4 October.
Aside from activities, Estée Lauder has also given people the option to partake in the campaign and at the same time, enjoy their top-notch products. Especially offered for the initiative to bring awareness to breast cancer, 20% of sales of these Estée Lauder products are given to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
