Everyone wants to know what the beauty world has in store for the new year. Good news: we got first dibs on what M·A·C Cosmetics is cooking up in their labs. The makeup giant held an event last Thursday at BOTANY where they unveiled their predictions for the top trends in fashion and beauty for Spring/Summer 2020 as well as the products needed to execute them from their Spring 2020 launches. Want to stay on top of the trends? Here’s your cheat sheet for the freshest looks next season.
Some of the makeup looks you'll see in Spring/Summer 2020 collections, according to M·A·C Cosmetics.
For the new decade, it’s all about bright colours in shades of yellow, green, and even red. Aside from covering your entire lid with these colours, you could try a neon cat-eye look or a white eyeliner look for a graphic and unique look. You can use the M·A·C Cosmetics Technakohl Liner (SGD34/~USD25) for this look, as it comes in 30 shades. Pick the colour that best reflects your personality and style.
Real Skin Beauty
Skin is the queen for 2020. Show off that smooth complexion with foundations that evens out your skin tone. This look can be achieved with both matte and natural finishes. For nice matte-looking skin, the Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 (SGD59/~USD25) is your best bet. And if you’d like a more natural glowing look, the Studio Face and Body Foundation (SGD56/~USD41.18) is a classic choice.
Aside from the matte skin trend making a comeback, glowy and dewy skin is here to stay. Expect to see the M·A·C Cosmetics’ Studio Perfect Hydrating Cushion Compact (SGD67/~USD49.27) and the Coral Grass Cushion Compact (SGD69/~USD50.74) on the runway, as both are formulated for maintaining bright, radiant skin.
Bold is the way to go. Deviating from the nude makeup look, the runway will be filled with dark smokey eyes and bold dark lips in Spring/Summer 2020. To ace this look, precision is key especially when it comes to eyeliner. Use the Pro Longwear Fluidline Gel Eyeliner (SGD34/~USD25) for a clean and precise liner look.
Regan Rabanal demonstrates the colour pay-off of the Patent Lip Lacquer on a model during the event.
You can sport these looks everyday with M·A·C Cosmetics' Patent Lip Lacquer, which will be launching in January 2020 with fifteen beautiful glossy shades to choose from. We got to see the Lip Lacquers in action during the event, with the expert application of Lyne Desnoyers, the Executive Director of M·A·C's Global Makeup Artistry, and Regan Rabanal, the Senior Manager of M·A·C's Regional Makeup Artistry.
