What To Watch Out For On Netflix This October

Fresh new titles

October is coming in a few days and we all know that this means we have a new wave of releases coming over to everyone’s go-to streaming site.  From spooky series to documentaries, there’s a ton of titles Netflix is releasing this month. But fret not, we’re rounding up the best ones you should definitely watch during your weekend binging nights. So, go ahead, sit back, Netflix, and chill.

Tomorrow, With You

Those looking for a new Asian series to binge should start with Tomorrow, With You once it’s released on Netflix this 1 October. The romantic Korean drama first released in 2017 stars Lee Je Hoon as Yoo So Joon, a time traveller who owns a big real estate company. When he sees his future self dying, he decides to marry amateur photographer Song Ma Rin, played by Shin Min A, to avoid his fate. Though he marries her for selfish reasons, he later finds himself falling for her day by day.

In The Tall Grass

We’re getting closer and closer to spooky season, and we’re happy to say that the Netflix October releases don’t disappoint. But what stands out from the number of thriller and horror titles coming up is In The Tall Grass, a film based on a Stephen King novella. The movie begins with a pregnant woman and his brother venturing forth through a field of grass after hearing a boy’s plea for help. We won’t spoil the rest for you, but, as all Stephen King’s works go, we all know this one’s gonna be really terrifying. So if you think you can take it, go ahead and stream it this 4 October.

Rhythm + Flow

But no need to have a heart attack, as not all of the Netflix October releases are to hype us up for Halloween. This 9 October, Netflix is also launching their own musical competition with Rhythm + Flow. Dive into the world of hip hop and follow Cardi B, Tip “T.I.” Harris, and Chance the Rapper as they hit the streets to search for the next rap superstar. Expect to see other hip hop stars like Snoop Dogg and DJ Khaled make an appearance on the show.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

Of course, if we’re talking about must-see titles this month, there’s definitely El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie on the list. That’s right — six years after Breaking Bad ended, the much-awaited film sequel is finally arriving on Netflix this 11 October. Aaron Paul will be reprising his role as fan-favourite Jessie Pinkman as the main protagonist of the film. El Camino will follow Jessie as he pursues freedom following the tragic finale of the multi-awarded series.

The Laundromat

A new Meryl Streep film is coming to Netflix and who would want to miss that, right? Streaming this 18 October, The Laundromat revolves around Ellen Martin, an old widow whose idyllic vacation takes a wrong turn. In the biographical comedy-drama film, shady dealings lead her to investigate insurance fraud that is traced back to a law firm in Panama linked to an off-shore tax scheme involving the world’s biggest politicians.

Charlie’s Angels

On a lighter note, if you’re in the mood for some 2000s nostalgia, Netflix is also releasing Charlie’s Angles. Before you catch the newest reboot on cinemas this November, catch this one and its sequel first. Re-live the adventures of three detectives played by Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Cameron Diaz, as they try to bring back a stolen device that threatens human privacy. Of course, there are also those fab fashion moments to look out for in the film, so keep your eyes peeled, and take them as inspos for your everyday dressing, too.
