Up-And-Coming Korean Fashion Brands To Check Out

A new wave of stylish labels

While there's no denying that South Korea has become a mecca for skincare and makeup lovers (in just a decade, mind you), the country also has an emerging fashion scene that we should all watch out for. The country offers a distinct flavour of style that's distinguished from the designs seen in New York, Paris, Milan and London. It's a little bit hard to describe, but we'd say it's street style with a dose of colour, chicness and playful elements.

Andersson Bell

Emerging brand Andersson Bell is known for producing pieces with minimal, streamlined silhouettes that feature pops of colour. For the exclusive collection with NET-A-PORTER, the brand created a collection of 12 exclusive leather and tweed separates detailed with asymmetrical lines, colours, and unique fitting.

Loved for their unconventional and unique designs, Pushbutton will be launching 12 RTW styles for NET-A-PORTER, including ladylike dresses and blouses with surprising elements such as the signature built-in bum bag. In addition to that, this Seoul-based streetwear brand will also release a three-piece collab with sneaker label Brandblack. The sneaker designs will be a blend of the two brands' aesthetics so expect some colour pop soles, utilitarian velcro straps and '90s style keyring embellishments.

Le 17 Septembre

Fan of the effortlessly chic look will no doubt love Korean fashion label Le 17 Septembre. All their clothes are designed to be timeless with some added unexpected details. The brand also prides itself in responsible manufacturing and fine craftsmanship. Investment pieces, indeed!

Taking cues from the carefree fashion of the 1970s, handbag label gu_de's signature piece is the sophisticated and versatile Milky purse that can go well with various outfits and can be donned at almost any occasion. But for The Korean Collective, gu_de will experiment and take on a new direction for its two new handbag designs. The first is a more ladylike option in the form of gusset framed bags and the other is a daywear shoulder bag finished with slouchy matt leather.

Named after the melting temperature of gold (1064.18˚C), 1064 STUDIO produces architectural and sculpture-like jewellery. This concept allows the wearer to layer the jewellery or wear one as a standalone statement piece. In The Korean Collective, 1064 Studio has created an exclusive 6-piece jewellery collection inspired by Ancient Korean tiles and ceramics. The collection is made in 14k gold-plated brass and features clear and green resin elements.
