Add These Off-The-Beaten-Track Locations To Your Bucketlist | Clozette

Feel like you’ve seen it all? Wander off and explore beyond the popular destinations. The world is vast and full of unseen wonders. There’s more mystery and adventure to uncover for those willing to venture further. If you’re unsure where to start, these off-the-beaten-track locations will surely satiate your wanderlust.

Chichibugahama Beach, Mitoyo, Japan

In the coastal city of Mitoyo lies the Chichibugahama Beach, a scenic gem that you must totally see when you fly off to Japan. Despite being an off-the-beaten-track location outside the standard Tokyo-Osaka itineraries most tourists have, it's well worth a visit whatever the season. Calm winds and low-tide transform the beach into a mirror that reflects the skies. The view becomes even more spectacular around sunset, giving you a breath-taking sight you’ll never forget.

Qinhuangdao, Hebei, China

Because China is so vast, it’s impossible to see the full glory of the famed Great Wall just by visiting Beijing. To see a different and arguably more fascinating section of the heritage site, travel to the city of Qinhuangdao in Hebei Province instead. Here, you’ll see the end of the wall, dubbed the “Old Dragon Head” meeting the sea. Aside from being known for its historical landmarks, the coastal area is also a popular summer destination for the locals.

Haw Par Villa, Singapore

If you’ve already been to Universal Studios a dozen times, skip it on your next trip and go straight to Haw Par Villa instead. Once called Tiger Balm Gardens, this unique attraction will give you a glimpse of another side of Singapore. Filled with sculptures that depict scenes from ancient Chinese folklore, Haw Par Villa is best for those looking to enjoy a quirky yet educational trip. Offering a surreal insight into intriguing old Singapore, this attraction is a must-see.

Bukit Larut, Perak, Malaysia

Escape the tropical heat and go on a relaxed and quiet getaway in Bukit Larut. Formerly called Maxwell Hills during colonial times, this off-the-beaten-track hilltop location is the place to be if you want to cool off. Though Bukit Larut may not have the entertaining theme park attractions of Genting, nature lovers will surely have a blast during their stay here. Aside from trekking and looking out for unique wildlife, visitors can dip in the Burmese pool by the foothills.

Batan Island, Batanes, Philippines

If soul-searching is what you intend to do, go on a peaceful trip far from the touristy crowds. Head to Batan Island in Batanes, one of the three inhabited islands in the archipelago province. Dotted with stone-walled houses, the island boasts of majestic emerald hills and pristine blue waves that crash upon rocky cliffs. With the island’s natural wonders and rich Ivatan history, it’s the place to go if you’re planning on soul-searching and learning about other cultures.
