One of the resolutions you should be including in your list this year is to give more attention to your skincare. As you start a new chapter in your life, why not also try to peel away the imperfections from your skin?

We know, peeling doesn't really sound inviting. It conjures up images of red, irritated skin. You can have renewed skin by peeling minus the horrors of it going bad, though. The Body Shop's new Drops of Youth Liquid Peel will help make sure that you get rejuvenated skin without the complications. The Liquid Peel is formulated to trap all your dead skin cells and impurities and peel them off gently.

The Liquid Peel also promises to make your skin more refined and luminous after continuous use. It is made with the same ingredients found in other products from the Drops of Youth line, namely Edelweiss, which contains leontopodic acids that work three times better as an antioxidant than vitamin C; Sea Holly, a flavonoid and polyphenol-rich ingredient that firms up skin; and Criste Marine, which is great for combating skin stressors.

Once you've peeled away your skin's impurities, face the new year with even clearer and brighter skin with the help of these!

In our early 20s, our skin may not yet show visible signs of aging – and thinking about tightening our skin is probably not at the top of our list of skincare needs. But take note: our daily activities such as putting on makeup and commuting from work or school can age our skin faster than we think, causing our skin to lose its firmness which may lead to wrinkles and fine lines.

So what should you do? We say: up your skin routine a notch! Sure a good anti-aging skincare routine is always a necessity; but did you know that there are other anti-aging methods to help those skincare products work to its full effect?

Be your #BestBeautiful! Keep your skin looking radiant and youthful with these tips that will complement your current skincare regimen.

--------------------------

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate

Even if you put an entire jar of moisturizer or night cream on your face, the product won't work to its full effect if you don’t brush off the layers of dirt and oil that’s been clogging your pores. Make sure you exfoliate at least twice a week to get rid of dead skin cells. And as much as you want to be thorough, avoid scrubbing your skin too much to avoid redness and irritation.

Once you’ve exfoliated, your skin is now primed to better absorb a good anti-aging skincare routine. Our current favourite? The Olay Regenerist Miracle Duo! So start your day with the Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence to help boost our skin’s natural rejuvenation process and the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream to keep our skin hydrated and moisturized.

--------------------------

Don’t touch that spot

We may think that we’re safe from pimples long after puberty, but because of the changing weather and other damaging factors such as pollution and stress, a spot may come out once in a while. And we have to admit that one of our guilty pleasures is picking on that spot even if we know it’s not good for our skin.

Picking on a spot can irritate the layer underneath your skin. Even if the redness has already subsided, the damage caused to the skin cells takes longer to recover, causing your skin to look dull and discoloured.

--------------------------

Drink moderately

There’s no problem with drinking alcohol occasionally. But drinking too much alcohol causes your skin to reduce the production of Vitamin A – a vitamin that is important for your skin as it contributes to your skin’s natural protection and self-rejuvenation process.

Over time, this will lead to your skin looking blotchy and dry; and causing other signs of skin-aging to appear like dark spots and fine lines.
--------------------------

Always keep a glass of water nearby

Sometimes, we get so busy to the point that we don’t even leave our desks to take a break. But one of the things that we must never, ever skip out on is that much needed H2O. Water is key in producing sweat that helps expel dirt and other toxins from our skin. It also helps keep our skin soft and supple for that youthful glow.

Maybelline has made a major move! The cosmetics brand just introduced its first-ever male ambassador: Manny Gutierrez, who is also known in the YouTube world as MannyMua.

Maybelline's decision is bold and refreshing  a move that's apt for a product that promises to be a companion for people who are always on top of their games.

“The duo's boss-like personalities, in which they unapologetically slay both their makeup looks and their professional lives on a daily basis, made them a perfect fit for the role," said Maybelline's senior vice president of marketing, Anne Marie Nelson-Bogle, about tapping the YouTube sensations as ambassadors. "They represented the 'boss' beauty attitude in this mascara campaign that no one else could, truly inspiring their audiences daily to be their own bosses which brings the inspiration and message of this mascara to life.”

Maybelline's announcement comes a few months after Cover Girl named its first-ever male spokesperson, James Charles.
