If Marie Antoinette had one go-to product line on her vanity table, it would be Paul & Joe Cosmetics. This March, the French beauty brand is opening a pop-up store at Isetan Scotts, alongside other well-loved French and Japanese cosmetics. Starring in their product lineup is the award-winning Paul & Joe Foundation Primer, which sold over a million bottles last year.
A huge part of Paul & Joe Beaute’s allure is its beautiful packaging. Established in 2002, the brand caters to the "hedonistic, passionate, and sophisticated woman." This is mirrored by the chic and feminine details of its makeup products, which are often rendered in subdued blush pinks and powder blues but include retro glam touches like engraved floral motifs and ribbed casings. Some of the packagings can be customised by purchasing the available casings that are sold separately, and feature playful prints, illustrations and toile-like patterns. Included in the product formulations is the signature Secret D’Or champagne gold frost, which gives the skin a gentle luminescence.
