What To Expect At PMFF's Fifth Anniversary | Clozette

Another year, another showcase of Filipino talent, innovation, and creativity. To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival, they’re embracing the theme 'Celebrate Fashion, Celebrate Life' by bringing out new talents and designs that show the lively fashion and design scene. Here’s what you can expect at this year’s biggest fashion event in Manila.

A Display of Sustainable Fashion

With a rising interest in sustainable fashion, PMFF is bringing more awareness to the movement this year. In collaboration with San Miguel Light and Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI). The organisation is providing sustainable fabric for the festival and challenged designer Yong Davalos to create an entire collection from it. We’ll see the results of this on Day 4 of the festival.

New Creations By Young Blood

As one of the most influential fashion events in the Philippines, PMFF is the cradle for a lot of young talents in the fashion industry. This season, they will be featuring the top six fashion graduates from the School of Fashion and Arts (SoFA) Design Institute during the event.

We will also witness the sixth Face of the Philippines contest, which aims to discover the new up-and-coming fashion models of the year. From extreme makeovers to creative photoshoots, the finalists are competing to show the best of their modelling capabilities. The winner will be announced on the third day of the festival.

A Series of Educational Material

This year,  there will be a segment for beauty enthusiasts called Panasonic Beauty Lifestyle Talks. Aiming to inspire and educate beauty enthusiasts, these workshop/seminars will cover topics such as hairstyling, make-up application, fashion photography, and fashion entrepreneurship.

If you’re interested in the festival’s events, the daily schedules are available on their Instagram

Whether it's to advocate a worthy cause or showcase personal style, this month, we're all about making a statement. There are many ways to express yourself, but arguably, one of the most personal and easiest ways to tell the world who you are and what you believe in is through the clothing you wear and how you present yourself. As Miuccia Prada once said, "Fashion is instant language."

Ahead, the bold fashion and beauty picks that help us make a statement.

Loewe Puzzle Bag

"When it comes to style, my philosophy is to keep it simple — and black. But this month, I'm ready to make a statement with the help of a gorgeous eye candy. I'm adding the Loewe Puzzle Bag to my lust list. It's got this really cool cuboid shape that's fresh but still sleek."

Ladurée's Amour De Merveilleuse

"I can't leave the house without spritzing perfume on so I'm always stocking on fragrances. The latest one to catch my fancy is Ladurée's Amour De Merveilleuse. Channelling an innocent yet sensual allure with tuberose as its star, its concoction of citrusy top notes, floral middle notes, and rich base notes make for a unique long-lasting blend that strengthens as the day goes by. Its beautiful bottle also adds to its appeal, branding it as a signature scent in the making — at least in my book."

Pomelo Pink Sequined Slip Dress

Pomelo Fashion sequin open back cowl neck dress in pink

"It's safe to say that anyone who knows me personally would know that I adore the colour pink. From light baby pink to salmon-like shades, all these are present in my wardrobe. And that's why I was immediately drawn to this pink sequined slip dress from Pomelo. It's in a beautiful pale pink shade that complements my skin tone and has the right amount of glam that showcases my sassy personality."

Sephora Collection Ultra Glow Serum

SGD19/~USD13 (30ml)

"With news about environmental issues plaguing us, I've become more conscious about my lifestyle choices. Though it's not much, I try to lessen my impact by switching to eco-friendly products. It's not easy, especially with much of our necessities still being packaged in plastics. Thankfully, the beauty front is covered with Sephora's first eco-conscious clean skincare line. I'm definitely eyeing their Sephora Collection Ultra Glow Serum to help protect my skin from harsh pollutants and bring out my glow. The serum contains Vitamins C and E derived from natural ingredients and its packaging is made from recyclable plastic, so it's all completely eco-friendly. With products like this, I could go on my beauty routine without guilt and make a statement about my advocacy while I'm at it."

Kat Von D Lolita Por Vida Eyeshadow Palette

Price unavailable

"I'm excited to try the new Kat Von D Lolita Por Vida Eyeshadow Palette that will be available starting tomorrow (10 October). I really love wearing pink eyeshadow looks. This palette has a nice spectrum of rose and plum colours that I think will let me create both neutral everyday looks and more striking eye looks for parties. Not only that, it's vegan and cruelty-free (my two advocacies). It ticks all of the boxes in my book."

Pandora Me Safety Link Bracelet

"I'm not the type of person who's heavy on accessories, but the newly released Pandora Me had me truly excited, especially the Pandora Me Safety Link Bracelet. I love how you can add multiple charms to it and design your own unique bracelet — perfect for expressing my personality. Plus, I absolutely adore their ambassador for this line, Millie Bobbie Brown, who also happens to be the star of my favourite TV show Stranger Things."

“As someone with fine and flat hair, I rely heavily on my go-to hair product, the Schwarzkopf OSIS Dust It Mattifying Volume Powder. It helps me add volume and give bounce to my hair which shows off my energetic persona. I can never live without this!"

From performances to event appearances, the girls of BLACKPINK are always serving amazing visuals and fashion moments. The girls were the talk of the town during the Paris and London Fashion Weeks last month. Not only that, but they’re also brand ambassadors for luxury brands such as CHANEL, YSL, Celine, and Burberry just to name a few. When they’re not on the clock, they’re travelling and exploring new places in style. No matter the occasion, they look good. Ahead, our favourite vacation looks from the ladies of BLACKPINK.

Parisian Chic Lisa

What is more Parisian chic than a long-sleeved black and white striped top? Lisa rocks this sequined sweater by pairing it with high-waist trousers that accentuate her frame. She keeps it simple with her makeup and hair, letting her waves cascade down her back to frame a natural makeup look. Perfect for a day exploring the City of Lights!

Lemon Lime Jennie

Lime green is quickly becoming the It colour of the year, so it’s no surprise that the trendy Jennie is seen rocking the colour at some point. She donned a cropped sweater cardigan with plaid pants that’s both simple yet eye-catching at the same time. Doesn’t she fit right in with this elegant library?

Rosé Among the Flowers

Rosé’s black-and-white polka-dotted dress is just plain cute. She went for a monochrome palette with her white sneakers and black purse as she toured around France. Plus, the background is certainly IG-worthy and makes us want to fly to Europe immediately.

Jisoo as the Lady in Red

One of our all-time favourites from Jisoo is this cherry red outfit from their Hawaii trip. With her pale skin, red lips, and cherry earrings, she’s giving us a whole entire theme. Her wispy bangs and high bun have us looking back on warm summer days of basking in the sun.

Pastel and Floral Dreams

The girls look like a dream in this photo from their 2019 Summer Diary in Hawaii. Lisa in her floral crop top and jean shorts topped off with a wide-brim hat looks perfect for sunny days while Jisoo’s cold-shoulder sundress looks fresh and light. Jennie’s long, billowing sundress makes her look ethereal and Rose’s teal blue romper has us thinking of music festivals.
