In such a fast-paced world, it’s inevitable that we forget to focus on areas in our lives that we have to actually be paying attention to. It’s not unusual that some of us might be forgetting to eat because of deadlines or forego caring for our other needs because of issues that need to be tackled.
But while we respect the hustle, we’re still huge advocates of self-care. You need to take care of yourself once in awhile. And one of the ways you can do that is by paying attention to your skin. With all the stress you’re battling, your skin takes a bit of the toll.
There are a lot of ways to take care of your skin, but when you’re busy, getting a facial treatment is the way to go. Bon Aesthetics offers various ways to care for your skin, including their newest treatment, the MesoBright. It’s a treatment that targets hyperpigmentation. The good thing about it is it’s delicate enough for people with sensitive skin.
It’s perfect for people who may not have a lot of time to spend for treatments and are always on the go. So we asked Winson, our regional business director, to give the treatment a shot. Here’s what he has to say.
Current skin type: Combination, dehydrated, sensitive
Recommended treatment: MesoBright, hydration essentials (an expert facial)
Before the facial treatment itself, the therapist rubbed an essential oil on her palms and hovered it above Winson’s nose for him to inhale. This step helped him relax his senses and prepare his mind for the facial.
The first step of the treatment itself was cleansing. It was then followed by exfoliation. But since Winson has sensitive skin, the exfoliant was coupled with a cleansing gel to make sure that it was not too harsh. A brown mas was used for the exfoliation, while a clear gel was used for cleansing. The combination had the same effect as that of double cleansing.
To prepare the face for the MesoBright serum, an OxyAqua procedure was done. With this, pure oxygen was blown to the skin to heighten the skin’s hydration level. And then, a soothing lotion was sprayed, followed by ampule serums that were brushed onto the skin and the Oxy-jet, which was done in tapping motions.
Winson said this part of the treatment is his favourite. “The rhythmic pulses of cool air is very relaxing,” he shared. “I can feel my skin plumping up and become instantly more hydrated.”
After that, the MesoBright serum, which helps correct dullness, was applied. The treatment was then done using a machine that has nanochip (instead of needles) to stimulate the pores for better absorption of the serum and whitening product. The machine can be adjusted to 2mm for the face and 1 mm for the forehead. The adjustments are necessary because the skin in different areas of the face don’t have the same texture and using the wrong size can cause discomfort.
That said, Winson shared that he felt zero pain and discomfort during the procedure. “I only felt a tapping sensation,” he added.
The next step was an ultra-hydrating massage to lock in all the serum used during the MesoBright treatment. It was capped off with a collagen plumping moisturising mask.
“After the treatment my skin felt hydrated, supple and brighter,” Winson said. “There was no redness or downtime. I could get on with my meetings after.”
