Shilla Launches First-Ever Beauty Loft In The World | Clozette

At the height of every traveller’s Singapore Changi Airport experience is the tax-free shopping, now made even bigger, better and more luxurious by global travel retailer, The Shilla Duty Free. In celebration of its first year anniversary at Changi Airport, The Shilla Duty Free officially launched the world’s first ever luxury beauty and spa concept in a duty free store on Monday.

Now not only can you shop to your heart’s content thanks to the extensive beauty ranges and tax-free prices, you can also hit The Shilla Beauty Loft for some pampering spa treats before boarding your flight.

Media and guests were treated to a music performance by singer-songwriter, Nathan Hartono.

Step into the mezzanine level of Shilla’s Terminal 3 Departure Central duplex store and you’ll be spoiled for choices by four prestigious beauty brands – Chanel, Dior Beauty House, Luxury Skincare Bar by La Prairie, and SK-II PITERA Lounge – all firsts of their kind in an international airport.

Chanel Beauty Lounge

Yet to unveil its magnificent glory during press day, the Chanel Beauty Lounge is the brand’s first exclusive beauty lounge at Changi Airport. A sophisticated, private area with its exterior coloured in Chanel’s classic black and white, clients will be hosted by a concierge and can choose from a menu of skincare, makeup and fragrance services. Access to the Chanel Beauty Lounge is strictly by invitation only.

Dior Beauty House

The Dior Beauty House is the first of its kind in an airport worldwide.

The very first of its kind in an airport worldwide, the Dior Beauty House offers a series of exclusive services – from fragrance consultations featuring the 12 exquisite House of Dior scents, the Dior La Collection Privée, to express facials, hand massages and makeovers – for an exquisite pre-flight beauty experience. Open to walk-in customers, each service will last between 10 to 30 minutes.

For jetsetters looking for an indulging facial fix to prep their skin for a gruelling long-haul flight, the first-ever SK-II PITERA Lounge offers four private spa rooms for a complete restorative treat. The esteemed Japanese skincare brand provides facial and massage services that range from an express 15 minutes up to an hour, each specially tailored for a seasoned traveller.   

Prior booking for SK-II services is advised, and walk-ins will be subjected to availability.

This star-studded event of media and VIP guests was held in Valkyrie at The Palace, and for the special event this prestigious bar took on a new look.

We were captivated as we experienced bathing with perfume through a multi-sensorial evening that featured gorgeous deep purple flower walls and the magical fragrance of Lux. 

The Clozette team also explored the different vignettes and creative setups that served as colourful Instagram backdrops!

What took centre stage was the illuminated stage of LUX-- filled with more deep purple flowers, lights, and the fragrant smell of LUX's Magical Spell--an alluring scent that enveloped the guests in luxury.  

The event commenced as host Apples Aberin conversed with the guest of the night, Perfume Expert from New York Nicole Mancini, about fragrances and how it creates certain emotional experiences in a person’s life. As the woman behind scents for Rihanna, Victoria’s Secret, Juicy Couture and St. Regis Hotels, Nicole Mancini took us through a fragrance masterclass. She revealed the art behind crafting fine fragrance as we re-created LUX’s signature variant, Magical Spell. 


Within the statement fragrance lies key notes of the rare Black Orchid, with opening notes of Juniper Oil, amidst a captivating blend of dark woods, golden amber, and vanilla bean. 

The Clozette team had fun as we dipped, dropped, and sniffed our way to creating our own versions of the scent and got to take it home in personalised glass bottles!

Clozette also witnessed Unilever Philippines’ Marketing Director for Skin, Mian Datu-David, as she talked about how Unilever created the magic behind Bathing with Perfume Every Day with LUX. 

She says “Scents play an important role in the lives of Filipina women. A whiff of a familiar fragrance can take a person back to days thought to be forgotten, or to remembering precious moments. They also got influencers such as Krys Uy, Nicole Andersson, Janina Manipol, and Jessica Yang.
