The shu uemura x HELLO KITTY collection is coming soon
Hello Kitty meets glam rock in shu uemura’s newest makeup collection. The two Japanese icons invite you to “celebrate your unique beauty, channel your bold personality and fuel your inner rock soul” through disco-inspired makeup products. The collection features two new eyeshadow palettes and a lipstick as well as quirkily packaged versions of shu uemura’s cleansing oil, eyebrow pencil, and foundation. It will pre-launch in Singapore on the shu uemura Flagship Store on LazMall from 1 to 13 October. It will also be available at the following outlets: ION Orchard Flagship Store (from 14 October), all boutiques and departmental stores (from 20 October) and Sephora (from 21 October).
Sally Hansen comes out with plant-based nail polish
If you’ve been wanting to treat yourself to a manicure, check out Sally Hansen’s new good.kind.pure.™ nail colour and care range. It features 100% vegan, plant-based ingredients and 15 nature-inspired shades. It also comes with a new plant-based brush to help you apply the nail colour easily. DrGL to participate in a pop-up showcase in Paris
This 5 to 10 October, several Singaporean designers will hold a pop-up showcase in the Marais district of Paris. Led by Paris-based Singaporean shoe designer Mashizan Masjum, the From Singapore to Paris: A Journey of the Five Senses showcase will treat Parisienne shoppers to a multi-sensory shopping experience. It will include presentations from the skincare brand DrGL as well as Singapore fashion designers, sound artists, and botanical design specialists. The pop-up will take place at the concept store Heureux Les Curieux at 23 Rue du Pont Aux Choux in the 4th Arrondisement and it is open to the public. The special presentations will be available through reservations.
UNIQLO opens its own cafe
Japanese fashion brand UNIQLO steps into the F&B business with its first in-house cafe in Japan. You can find UNIQLO Coffee on the top floor of the newly renovated 12-story UNIQLO Flagship Store in Ginza, Tokyo. The cafe offers UNIQLO’s special coffee blend that you can pair with cookies made by confectionery brand Ginza West. It’s the perfect break from shopping; floor-to-ceiling windows treat you to a panoramic sight of Tokyo’s city skyline. Will you put it on your bucket list for your Japan trip?
The Crown and The Queen’s Gambit win awards in the 2021 Emmys
If you don’t have any plans for the weekend, why not binge the shows that took home awards at the 73rd Emmy Awards? To start off, immerse yourself in the Netflix royalty drama The Crown which took home the Best Drama Series award. Adding on to the show’s success is Olivia Coleman (Queen Elizabeth II) and Josh O’Connor (Prince Charles) who took home the Outstanding Actress and Actor awards in a Drama series. Meanwhile, chess craze catalyst The Queen’s Gambit was acknowledged as the Outstanding Limited Series of the year. If you want a good laugh, catch up on Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso that stars Jason Sudeikis (who also won Outstanding Lead Actor in Comedy).
Netflix to hold global fan event on 26 September
Speaking of Netflix, the streaming service will be holding its fan event this weekend. As a gesture of thanks for our support, Netflix has gathered 145 of its stars and creators from its shows to give us a sneak peek into the content that will arrive on its platform in the coming months. TUDUM: A Netflix Global Fan Event will air on the Netflix Asia YouTube channel on Sunday 26 September at 12AM SGT.
