Tokyo White Brings Moistuwhite™ To The Philippines | Clozette

Tokyo White brings the latest Japanese skin whitening technology called Moistuwhite™ to the Philippines. In Japan, Bihaku skin (loosely translated as beautifully white skin) is not just about having a fair skin tone but also a blemish-free complexion that's smooth and plump. And while there are many ways available today to achieve a lighter skin tone, not all are created equal. Some can be drying and downright damaging to our skin. This is where the new Moistuwhite™ technology comes in.

Moistuwhite™ is a combination of natural ingredients that are developed to help women who wish to achieve the Bihaku look through the use of safe, well-researched and effective skin lightening ingredients. For their initial launch, Tokyo White introduced two premium whitening products: the Tokyo White Natural Whitening And Moisturizing Face & Body Soap and Tokyo White Natural Whitening And Moisturizing Body Lotion. Both products primarily use arbutin (derived from bearberry) and grape seed extract (blocks enzymes that breaks collagen and elastin) for its whitening and moisturising properties.

Another whitening ingredient that's used for the lotion is glutathione which is known to be very effective in inhibiting pigments that can cause discolouration. Other notable ingredients that make up Moistuwhite™ are vitamin E (blocks free radicals) and vitamin C (removes dead skin cells).

Tokyo White products are now available at Watsons Philippines, Robinsons Supermarket, Merrymart, Landmark, Shopee and BeautyMNL

We’ve all fallen guilty to not giving our feet the attention they deserve. They carry us — literally — everywhere we need to go. Which means they also get tired, calloused and beaten up from all the (leg) work (pun intended). The skin on our feet is also naturally dry. And since we use our feet a lot and sometimes just can’t resist a good pair of heels, we end up getting cracked heels. If you’re a stockings wearer, this means the constant rubbing with cracked heels can wear your pairs out faster. But even if you don’t wear stockings often, it’s no secret that cracked heels can be uncomfortable (not to mention annoying). So it’s important to refresh your feet by removing dead, dry skin and reveal its natural softness. How? Meet Baby Foot.

We’ve all coveted skin that’s as smooth as a baby’s. But did you know that you can achieve it not just for your face but also your feet? Baby Foot is a peeling mask that exfoliates and removes the dry, cracked skin on the feet — this reveals smooth, renewed skin!

It’s made with natural ingredients — 17 to be exact — so your skin peels thoroughly but gently. Aside from exfoliating, these ingredients also deliver nourishing benefits. You’ll feel at ease with Horsetail Herb, Watercress, Sage, Clematis, Apple, Meadowsweet, Burdock Root, Orange, Tea Plant, Chameleon, Bladderwrack, Chamomile, Lemon, Soapwort, Ivy, Camel Grass and Grapefruit as the stars of this product.

Aside from giving you soft skin, it also helps deal with foot odour by removing dead skin that’s a thriving ground for bacteria. The fun part? It’s easy to use — no need for scrubbing or scraping, and you don’t need to do it often. Do it twice a year, and you’re good. If your cracked heels are more serious, though, it’s safe to bump up the use at once every two months. Soak your feet in warm water first. Then, simply slip your feet into the gel packs and leave them on for 30 minutes before rinsing the product off. Within three to five days, your feet’s skin will peel off to reveal something softer and smoother — just like a baby’s.

Baby Foot is available on Tokyoninki and at all SaSa and Watsons stores in Malaysia.

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t arrive at hydration city by hopping on board the water train. Depending on what your current skin condition is, you need to make pitstops and change gears to arrive at your desired destination — that is hydration inside-out.

Before you dismiss it as laborious, though, here’s proof that it’s actually easy. You just need to make a few tweaks in your routine and trusty aqua-rich, moisture-giving products like the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel and Neutrogena Hydro Boost Capsule In Serum. To prove it, we had three members of #TeamClozette — Jordianne, Dhivya, and Vicky — try a 7-day challenge that will give your skin the surge of hydration it needs.

Use a humidifier

More often than not, we find ourselves cooped up in airconditioned spaces — whether it’s for work or leisure. While the cold can be comfortable, especially when you live somewhere so hot, it can also be too drying to the skin. The easiest way to remedy this is by using a humidifier.

Hydration tip: Use a Humidifier along with a good moisturiser

At night, before going to bed, make sure you put on a hydrating serum like the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Capsule in Serum, which instantly quenches dry skin*. It also helps repair the skin’s moisture barrier and protects the skin from getting dry. The capsules found inside the serum release antioxidants that help fortify the skin barrier and protect against recurring dryness. After that, turn on your humidifier and sleep in peace — and hydration.

“Aside from getting cold and cough because of the airconditioning, I noticed my skin also becomes incredibly dry. So using a humidifier was a welcome change for me,” Jordianne says of the experience. “After doing it for seven days, along with using the Hydro Boost Capsule in Serum, I noticed I don’t have dry patches when I wake up anymore. There’s also a glow to my skin.”

Quit coffee and switch to tea

Some of us can’t function well without coffee as fuel. But did you know that drinking coffee too much can affect how your skin produces collagen? And that means dehydrated skin and more chances of getting wrinkles. So instead of gulping cups of coffee, go for relaxing, antioxidant-rich tea instead.

Quit coffee and drink tea

Vicky tried it by slowly eliminating the coffee in her routine, although she’s a heavy coffee drinker. “It was pretty magical that after five days on the caffeine-free challenge, my skin became more radiant in the morning and definitely more plump and smooth,” she says. “I actually don't mind extending this hydration challenge and continue using the Hydro Boost Water Gel.”

The hyaluronic-packed Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is great for a surge of hydration. It’s an oil-free moisturiser that helps leave the skin more supple and smooth. “It really hydrates my skin instantly, and I noticed that my makeup has become more long-lasting after continuously putting the moisturiser on before I put on face colour,” adds Vicky.

Eat your water

There are a lot of excuses we can make for not being able to drink water. So the easiest way to still do it without having to lug a bottle around is to eat your water. How? Make sure you incorporate water-rich foods into your diet such as watermelon and celery.

"Undergoing the challenge was hard especially because the food around the office is unhealthy,” Dhivya said. “But I tried to make a conscious effort to eat and drink more water-rich foods.”

Boost your hydration with Neutrogena

Amp it up by treating your skin to a vitamin-rich hydrating serum like the Hydro Boost Capsule In Serum, which is packed with vitamins E and B3. “Upon application, you just feel moisturised,” Dhivya says. “However, after a while, I notice that I look like I have highlighter on. It’s like a liquid highlighter but with lots of skin-caring benefits. Meanwhile, the Hydro Boost Water Gel is already a favourite because it’s so lightweight and gets absorbed quickly. After doing the challenge for seven days, along with applying the Capsule in Serum, I noticed that my skin texture has improved. My skin doesn’t feel as dry."
