Welcome The Chinese New Year With ZALORA | Clozette

In time for Chinese New Year this month, ZALORA has launched their 150-piece womenswear Lunar New Year 2015 collection.  The bold and opulent collection is a modern interpretation of the traditional Chinese wear, presenting a cross between traditional and contemporary design, perfect not only for the festive season but also throughout the rest of the year.

The Asian influenced prints on modern silhouettes and cuts is accented with mandarin collars; while the strong palette of auspicious red from bright rose to darker wines that dominates the collection is mixed with hints of fashion’s latest hues - blue, white, and coral.

The collection features a spectrum of peplum tops, playsuits, fit and flare dresses, and fabrics such as jacquard and neoprene with lace and oriental bloom prints--all of which are fashion-forward options for the traditional Chinese outfits. In its entirety, the collection empowers women in selecting a suitable Lunar New Year style that is chic and fashionable while retaining the essence of the celebration.

Prices range from S$24.90 to S$69.90 / RM65 to RM129, and is available exclusively on ZALORA from now until sold out.

Nothing inspires us most than seeing your looks for the week. To be honest, you have all been sharing stunning OOTD posts and it has been getting harder for us to choose our top 5 favourites. For the past week, the Clozette community was full of glamorous looks with skirts and dresses, chic yet casual monochrome ensembles, and a lot of outfits with blue and yellow pieces.  Now all we can say is-- bravo!

Here are our top 5 favourite looks!

The OOTDs of joyceylynthiang has been a mix of classy and sweet but this look stood out the most! The combination of her dress' intricate lace details and colour choice is a sure winner for any glamorous cocktail occasion.

Out of all the black outfits we saw for the past week, this look from iamaly was a sure stunner. Why? Because she effortlessly mixed an ensemble of black, grey, and brown. The romper and cardigan were a clever pairing but the brown cutout shoes added character to everything!

This glamorous look from ssydneyho is something you would look at over and over but still be impressed every single time. The pop of yellow in her cropped peplum top and the crystals on her neck and heels flawlessly finished-off the look. The full-length skirt may not be the usual "everyday look" choice but who cares? If you feel like an elegant look suits the day, then why not?

It's rare to see a unique and funky look that's eye-catching and hip all at the same time; and that's why Cat_jiajia's OOTD was really something beyond the ordinary. Her orange socks and top complements each other while her neutral sneakers and leggings downplayed the look a bit, achieving a perfect balance. Her maroon bonnet and tassel neck piece made the look even more interesting!

If you have work/school all day but still have to attend a dinner event at night, what would you wear? Clozette Ambassador sharniehung seals the deal in this all-day, all-night look with a sweet-yet-boyish appeal. She styled her eye-catching skirt with some monochrome lovin' hat, top, and shoes while adding a pop of colour with her Moby Dick sling bag.

2014 has brought us trends such as mesh, metallic pieces, monochrome, the sporty look, face contouring, various nail art ideas, and short haircuts. This year is different, but with a few exceptions, especially since natural effortless looks are what fashion authorities are showing off on the runways.

We gave you what's in this 2015 in fashion and beauty, so now we give you the trends that are in still in from 2014 and has found it's way back!

Comfort Shoes

Mandals, Birkenstocks, Nike Roshe Runs, Adidas Stan Smiths...you name it. As long as they're flat, they're still in. Flats are comfortable, but it has been proven that comfort doesn't necessarily mean it's not fashionable. You can add spunk by wearing sneakers, or dress down a pair of tailored pants by wearing sandals. Flat shoes are versatile, comfortable, fashionable, and they're here to stay.

Bold Lipsticks

No need to sulk over all those red and purple lippies you bought because it's still worth raving about! Coloured lips have been such a big thing last year that they decided to stay up until this year. Every girl loves a bold lip because it adds a dash of character and glam to your #FOTD.

Clear Skin

Clear skin will always be in! So much more now that the natural look is making a statement. This year you can opt to go out of your house without putting too much make up on. But of course that needs a little work on your side as well. You can follow these three easy steps from G Diipa's YouTube channel on how to get clear skin: cleanse, tone and moisturise.

Since Monochrome is staying strong in 2015, anything that falls under "basic" is in. A few noteworthy pieces are crisp white polos, black sandals, cropped tops (yes, they're still in too), and tailored trousers. It may look easy to style but mastering the minimalistic trend is a challenge sometimes. Make sure it doesn't get too boring by adding textured pieces and playing around with layering!

Last but not the least is the use of eyeliner. Whether it's a thin line on top of the lid or a thick cat eyeliner, they're still in---and probably will always be in. Just like the bold lippies, the eyeliner adds more character to your look and refines your eyes a little bit more. It's perfect for just about any day and any occassion.
