Here's How Artists Wore White Roses At The 2018 Grammy Awards

No, it's not a style trend

After the remarkable 'blackout' during the Golden Globes Awards, support for the Time's Up movement was once again seen when artists showed up at the 2018 Grammy Awards wearing a white rose to raise awareness and show solidarity for the advocacy against harassment and inequality. The white rose is said to "symbolise respect, pays homage to new beginnings and expresses hope for the future."

For us, there's nothing more on-trend than being aware of and making a statement on a timely issue. We applaud everyone who took a stand, but we can't help but find favourites. Here are some eye-catching ways celebrities wore the white rose.

Lady Gaga

Although we miss her eccentric red carpet looks from back in the day, Lady Gaga still impressed us with this number from Armani. She was clad in a lace top and leggings, and a skirt with a voluminous train. The white rose was not out of place in the ensemble as it was elegantly pinned on the right side of her top.

Janelle Monáe

Janelle Monáe surprised everyone when she showed up in her Dolce & Gabbana floral suit. This is definitely a fresh look for her, as she deviated from her usual black and white outfits. A statement pin in white rose is fittingly displayed on her lapel. The look, which she displayed on the red carpet, seems like a prelude to her powerful speech at the program, where she said, "We come in peace, but we mean business."

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus looked radiant and powerful in this skinny silhouette pantsuit from Jean Paul Gaultier. She carried a long-stemmed rose to go with her sleek look. We can't help but think that this ensemble is something that grown-up Hanna Montana would wear if the show were still airing today.

Miley sang Tiny Dancer with Elton John in one part of the program.

Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey showed up on the red carpet looking dreamy as ever in a custom Gucci dress accessorised with a starry halo, and the white rose in the form of a corsage. The whole vibe of the look reminds us of the goddesses in Greek mythology — it's very ethereal and angelic.

Rita Ora

Rita Ora pulled off a very glamorous aura, complete with on-point red lips and slicked-back hair. The singer's snazzy outfit is from Ralph and Russo. The white rose was proudly displayed on her off-shoulder, bejeweled gown.
