#IngredientsLowdown | There are new @biotherm #aquasource #skincare products - including an #auraconcentrate, a milky #lotion, and a gel #moisturizer. These are intended to be for dry and very dry skin, and to really deeply hydrate skin. The cool thing about the Aura #concentrate is that it's actually a biphase product - there's a layer of oil on top of the water phase, which is good if you have dry skin. The range also claims to contain "medicinal aura leaf", which judging from the ingredients lists (which I had to spend some time hunting down, btw, because I was dying of curiosity to know what it was!), appears to be Nasturtium Officinale Extract, which is derived from the leaves of the watercress plant. So if you've been wondering what that ingredient was, now you know! The rest of the range seems to take a leaf from #Biotherm's style of formulation (i.e. products are formulated to make the textures more lightweight), and both the milky lotion and gel do contain alcohol, although the aura concentrate does not. Other notable ingredients include oils and emollients that are added to benefit dry skin, and some of my favourites such as: macadamia seed oil, squalane and 3-0 ethyl ascorbic acid (a stable variant of vitamin c, which you know I'm a fan of) in the aura concentrate, and apricot kernel oil, shea butter, and ceramide np (another really nice ingredient for dry or aging or damaged skin which I like) in the gel, all of which are there in pretty decent percentages, too! The Milky Lotion has a formulation that we are more familiar with, consisting mainly of humectants, with of course the watercress extract. All the products also contain Biotherm's signature #lifeplankton (which I've blogged about before), and this ingredient appears as Vitreoscilla Ferment in the ingredients lists. So now you know! I've gotta say I'm especially liking the look of the products, especially the aura concentrate and gel, and I think alcohol aside, they can certainly be useful for dry skin.
